Packaging
Flat Sleeve with Side Gussets
A film designed for packaging in the automated Form-Fill-Seal (FFS) system, hence the commonly used names "FFS film" or "FFS sleeve". It is supplied as a flat sleeve or a sleeve with side gussets.
The packaging is made from a three-layer film. Depending on customer requirements, we select the packaging dimensions, film colour, and other functional features, such as anti-slip knurling, perforation, or additives modifying the film composition. High-quality flexographic printing on the bag surface is executed according to customer specifications (up to 8 colours).
Adhering to circular economy principles, we produce packaging that is recyclable and can incorporate recyclates in its production, including PCR (Post Consumer Regranulate).
Customer Benefits:
- The multi-layer polyethylene (PE) film structure provides increased strength and tear resistance while maintaining minimal thickness.
- The FFS sleeve perfectly protects the packaged goods against moisture, dirt, and mechanical damage. Packaging made from certified film (UN certificate) is suitable for transporting and storing hazardous materials.
- Forming the packaging units, filling them, and final sealing are performed in one continuous operation on an automatic packaging line, saving both process costs and time. Automated FFS systems eliminate human error, ensure consistent quality, and minimise process inefficiency.
- The polyethylene film sleeve offers superior moisture protection for goods compared to paper packaging.
- Due to the homogeneity of the material used (LDPE), the packaging is 100% recyclable.
- We also offer packaging incorporating recycled materials.
- We assist in developing print designs and producing printing plates.
- We provide consultancy in selecting the appropriate film sleeve - its dimensions, colour, and features - tailored to the needs of packaging machinery and customer requirements.
Application
The multi-layer packaging film is used for the automated packaging of various goods across many industries. In short, the Form-Fill-Seal (FFS) system involves filling a pre-formed film sleeve with product, making transverse seals, and cutting off the finished individual packages. LDPE film sleeves are used:
- In the chemical industry: as ideal packaging for fertilisers, plant protection products, salt, plastic granules, and many other chemical substances in loose or granulated form.
- In the construction industry for packaging: expanded polystyrene (EPS), adhesives, fillers/putties, bituminous materials, sand, aggregates, etc.
- In agriculture and horticulture: for packaging seeds, mineral fertilisers, horticultural gravel, substrates and soil, lime, peat, bark, and wood chips.
- As packaging material: for animal feed and fodder, bedding, and grit.
- For packaging fuel materials: including pellets, briquettes, coal, and eco-pea coal.
