Vapour Regulator is a material that restricts the flow of water vapour, blocks air movement, and simultaneously retains liquid water. It is designed for use in building envelopes: roofs, ceilings, and walls.
Due to its low vapour permeability (Sd = 2 m), it serves a dual function: it acts as an airtight wind barrier in frame walls and, at the same time, protects the thermal insulation and structure of pitched roofs from excessive vapour diffusion from the building interior – particularly where highly vapour-permeable underlays are installed (in this application, it functions as a vapour control layer).
Vapour Regulator can also be used as a low vapour-permeable underlay beneath roof coverings fixed to battens.
Each roll is equipped with a factory-applied self-adhesive tape in the overlap zone, which greatly facilitates joining and sealing adjacent sheets of the material.
The airtightness of the layer created by the Vapour Regulator is crucial for a building's energy efficiency. Experience and research prove that a significant amount of heat is lost through leaky roofs and walls, and uncontrolled air flows (infiltration) lead to additional moisture accumulation within these structures.
It is important to remember that to achieve full airtightness, it is necessary to seal not only the joints between the regulator sheets but also its connections to walls, chimneys, floors, and other structural elements.
