Products for horticulture and agriculture
AKWEN is a range of multi-layer pond liners that enable you to create your own garden pond easily and inexpensively.
When planning to build a pond yourself, start by marking out the pond boundaries. This can be done using wooden pegs connected with string or coloured ribbon (which will be visible from different parts of the garden, making it easier to determine the optimal shape before you start digging). The pond walls should not be vertical - maintain a certain slope angle for the bottom, and remember to create “shelves” for aquatic plants. Clear the pond bottom of stones, glass, and sticks that could damage the liner, then spread a several-centimeter layer of sand. On this prepared base, you can lay the AKWEN liner. The liner should be installed in sunny weather, at temperatures above 20°C. Spread it over the excavation and then lower it so it first touches the bottom at the deepest part of the pond. Install it from the bottom upward. Do not stretch the liner; it should lie loosely. On the installed liner, it's recommended to place GARDEN MESH (section: Plastic nets) or IZOFLEX dimpled sheet (section: Construction products). This mesh, thanks to its flexibility, is perfect for placement over the liner when implementing garden landscaping projects. Using such complementary reinforcement significantly increases the pond's durability and quality.
Blue or green water?
If you want blue or green pond water, choose a multi-layer liner that is blue on one side and green on the other. The liner is also available in black.
