ML 90 AL, ML 110 AL and ML 140 AL vapour control films are films with intermediate strength properties compared to MLS 98 film and standard vapour barriers. The distinguishing feature of this type of film is its higher diffusion resistance compared to other vapour barriers.

The very low vapour permeability results from sealing the film by spraying aluminium onto one of its layers. This is particularly important in all applications where maximum airtightness of the building envelope is required. This applies to all roofs and frame walls that cannot be ventilated for various reasons. Such situations most often concern renovated roofs and walls where roof covering or facade ventilation cannot be installed.

The sprayed aluminium makes this vapour barrier resemble a mirror that reflects solar radiation. This is significant for rooms heated by devices emitting large amounts of thermal radiation. The heat then spreads throughout the rooms partly through radiation, which can reflect off mirror-like (reflective) surfaces. Using this type of vapour barrier behind plasterboards results in energy savings because its reflective surface reflects the portion of radiation that penetrates behind the boards.

ML AL type vapour control films meet the requirements of the European standard EN 13984 and are CE marked.
