WHERE CAN IZOFLEX BE USED?

FOUNDATIONS

Damp-proof membrane IZOFLEX is used as a heavy insulation of foundations against water and additional drainage layer in protection systems of  underground parts of buildings. Damp-proof membrane IZOFLEX is often used only as a protection of bituminous sealing mass against mechanical damages (made by earth or installations). According to ITB 408/2006 instruction hydro-insulations with damp-proof  membrane IZOFLEX are made when the building is situated over underground water level in permeable soil.

Damp-proof membrane IZOFLEX is put on hydro-insulation as a drainage-ventilation layer. In this application you should make the right slopes and properly functioning system of draining water from the surface of ceiling.

TERRACES

The purpose of using IZOFLEX is the same like in covered ceilings. The difference is that the gap made by “buckets” fulfils the function of  ventilation by removing dampness through air flow. To make it possible you must remain the inlets to ventilation gap at the edges of terrace (at least from two sides) in order to enable the air to flow through the space made by IZOFLEX. On the top of IZOFLEX is put the layer of reinforced concrete.

INNER WALLS OF BASEMENTS

Damp-proof  membrane IZOFLEX is used on the inner walls of basement in places where permanent dampness occurs. The purpose is to remove dampness through the permanent flow of the air. This application requires remaining the inlet gap to the ventilation space of the wall by the floor and the outlet gap by the ceiling of the basement. As a finishing from the room side you can use gypsum or calcareous plaster (other materials as well). Of course, there are other possibilities for effective wall lining.

FLOORS OF BASEMENTS

Damp-proof membrane IZOFLEX is used as a drainage-ventilation layer with similar functions like on the walls of basements. The difference is that in this application the reinforced concrete is used as a base under the floor.

PROTECTION FOR RETAINING WALLS

In this applications IZOFLEX can act like in foundations by draining the water from precipitations that press on walls which are the element of earth building or micro-architecture.
